Domaine de Montcalmès

LANGUEDOC-ROUSSILLON - FRANCE

In recent years, Domaine de Montcalmès has made a reputation for itself as a rising star of the Languedoc, justifying Jeb Dunnuck’s (Robert Parker’s successor at the Wine Advocate) suggestion that the region’s crus are “diamonds in the rough”. It is truly a testament to this terroir, that the grapes previously sold off in bulk are now found in 3 Star Michelin restaurants across France and are sought after around the world.

The Domaine de Montcalmès extends over 22 ha in the communes of Puéchabon, Aniane, St Jean de Fos and St Saturnin de Lucian. The estate is located 30 km northwest of Montpellier. Managed by Frédéric Pourtalié and his sister Muriel, the estate today produces around 50,000 bottles per year, in “Terraces du Larzac” (red), and “Coteaux du Languedoc” (white).
